it may sound strange, but i am starting to get a better handle on what life tells me is coming instead of seeing it in retrospect.

weeks before 9/11, i spent hours over the course of many days putting layer afther layer of blood red paint on an old wooden ladder and letting it soak in, globbing it on so that it dripped off in brilliant crimsom globs. that morning, i took my son on his paper route in alaska and looked up and said "look son, its islam" as i pointed to the waning crescent moon and bright object in the sky just above it. we walked into the house that morning(4 hours difference from NY) in time to watch the second plane go into the towers live on tv. months afterward, i noticed, having been in front of me all along, that my ahs tray was a pentagon with two towers on it. it had been there all along.

last year i spent on the lake at our new home and it was a year of flooding.

this year it looks like i am going to be building with the new system called grancrete. it will revolutionize housing as we know it. like the punchline of the old joke, i am thinking, somebody's gonna lose a trailer. i think a lot of people are going to get displaced. we shall see.
