Can flouride tablets cause fetal retardation?

I am asking for a friend that was prescribed flouride tablets years ago by her gynocologist while she was pregnant. She delivered a child that was severely retarded, unlike her previous healthy two children.

Her prescription required ingesting several flouride tablets daily.

She thinks it may be possible that flouride damaged her daughters developing brain.

Now she wants to know if anybody knows of a possible connection between flouride in pregnant mothers and adverse fetal developement.

Does anybody know of any proof of such?

She would like to find proof of what she feels happened to her child.
