"Why keep alive a TOTAL vegetable?"

i don't think that you are in any position to be declaring that she SHOULD be dead or that it is what she DEFINITELY wanted, or that she was a TOTAL vegetable. you keep talking about the new york times -- did it ever occur to you that perhaps the mainstream media, which is a MONEY MACHINE and which panders to the political powers-that-be might ACTUALLY be somewhat BIASED in a situation like this?

did you do any of your OWN research, did you check out any independent news websites? did you read the affidavits? did you watch the videos of terri? did you read about how many doctors have said there is reason to believe that her husband was physically ABUSIVE and may have even had a hand in her "collapse"? did you read about michael's, "when is that bitch gonna die?" comments? does that seem like something that someone who truly loved and cared for terri would really say?

MANY top neurologists and other doctors went to bat saying that terri was NOT a "total vegetable" -- do you think you know more about brain health than these medically trained professionals? it is tragic that none of the COURT ORDERED DOCTORS were willing to speak the truth.

the point is that there are QUESTIONS UNANSWERED and as long as this is the case it is ESPECIALLY WRONG to "allow" someone to die.

you said, "Why not help feed thousands of children with that money, keep a real human being alive rather throw all that money down the drain." ... excuse me, but you actually believe yourself to be capable of determining who is a "REAL" HUMAN BEING and who ISN'T? what blind arrogance. so where do we draw the line? who are we going to kill next? autistic children? all the elderly people who have alzheimer's?

is anyone who can't walk or talk suddenly NO LONGER HUMAN by society's standards?

what happened to the sanctity of life? the reverence for the sacred? the GRATITUDE for the GIFT OF LIVING? isn't it our duty as sentient beings, capable of COMPASSION, to do everything in our power to HONOR and PRESERVE and LOVE that gift?

i don't care what god you do or don't believe in -- life is LIFE, and that is the one thing ALL BEINGS must answer to. we ARE life. once we have defiled life..there is nothing else left to defile.

i, for one, choose to HONOR terri as a "real human being."

if i were in her position, i certainly wouldn't want some person i'd never met, who got all their information from the new york times, to be going around declaring that i wasn't a "real human being" and that my parents who were fighting to preserve my life were "totally selfish". personally i believe that terri's friends and BLOOD RELATIVES are the most trustworthy source of information.

i continue to offer up my love and prayers to terri and to her family.
