From what was reported: Michael was called by the Hospice and asked to get there as soon as possible because they (staff) knew his wife in her last moments. They also told him that his (former) brother-in-law was in a "scuffle" with police in the hall just outside of the room. They then asked if it was okay if his (former) brother-in-law could be in the room with the police to be sure nothing further would occur. Michael told them "no" because he didn't want his wife surrounded by police in her final minutes.
What happened here is tragic. But I have to say I am sickened by the entire media circus that has followed this. As a father of 2 daughters and two grand-daughters, I would fight tooth and nail to save their lives. But when there is no hope, one must face reality and let go. To blame Terri's husband for what has happened is unfair.
In my opinion, both sides should have acted civil towards each other many years ago. Many courts and many doctors have reviewed the circumstances in the case and it should have been accepted.
However, with all the time that has passed during this "tragidy" Terri should have been allowed to live her life out under the care of her parents even though it was very clear that she would never recover..... ever.
My point of this long post is that people are looking for someone to blame and her husband is an easy target. He gained nothing.... no insurance policy, nothing. He kept out of the spot light trying not to add to the carnival atmosphere and for that he is assumed to be hiding something. Very sad.
