Please take this post into consideration before you start blaming Michael Shiavo for Terri's death.

Michael Schiavo did not make the decision to let Terri Shiavo die. That is a HUGE misconception of this case. Being her gaurdian does not give him the right to make that decision.

He never did and never will have the right to make that decision for her. He never even claimed to have that right. He petitioned the court that this would be HER wish. If you read the decision that came down from the case in Feb of 2000, you will see that Michael Schiavo's and Terri's parents' personal opinions (on what they would want to happen to Terri) didn't even weigh in on the decision. Testimonies were given on statements made by Terri. By all accounts (accept those based on statements made by Terri when she was 12 years old) Terri would not want to live this way. The courts decision was based on what TERRI would want.

That's all that matters. Your opinion, my opinion, her parents, Michael Schiavo...the pope, none of them mean anything in this case. No one's opinions matter accept for TERRI's.

You are all completely right when you say that her right to live is Terri's right and no one elses.

If you want to be upset at anyone that she is dying, be upset with Terri, because this is what she would want.
