Hi womenfolk,

Yay for us. Just today I was really pondering this difficulty (after eating a chocolate muffin) and then here was this forum!

Cinnamon and ginger supposedly help with some of the Sugar swings and therefore cravings.

The web site rawfamily.com says that some component of Sugar craving is a craving for calcium (maybe the Sugar leaches calcium and makes it available in the blood? Only a guess, I don't know. I hope I'm wrong. Eek.) so she suggests every morning whirring some sesame seeds into powder and then blending with water to make sesame "milk." She says after drinking that for some days, sweet things will taste too sweet.
Bought the seeds but haven't tried it yet.

I just read in Heinerman's Encyclopedia of Healing Juices that according to Paavo Airola, string bean juice (yes, putting them in a juicer) is very good for leveling off blood sugar shifts. Hard to imagine but there it is. Henry Bieler wrote that for people with big sugar swoops, he would put them to bed and give them low starch vegetables, celery, parsley, zucchini and such, as a lightly cooked soup, and that was supposed to really calm them down.

It is a such a big problem for me!!!! Every other aspect of my diet is great, but without chocolate I am walking into walls. Good grief. I've kicked it for a year at a time but only by eating like a horse.

So, you have all my sympathy and I will be hanging around The Zone trying to share the wisdom.

Sweet wishes for a sweet life,

A
