My mom used to live on a farm and she would hide in the barn when it was time to slaughter.
She said her father hated to hurt the animals, especially the cows, with the big brown eyes and gentle nature.

He hated it, occasionally had to do it. And he did it the most humane way. I have respect for him, even though I never met him.
