The stem-cell link to cancer has been a working theory for over 100 years. It is the foundation of Dr. Kelley's trophoblast theory (they did not understand stem cells in the 1960's).
Recently, they have tracked bone marrow stem cells as they move into an inflamation and while attempting to heal the wound, fail to differentiate propelry and become malignant. The process is now understood and proven (though modern medicine has yet to accept the findings). Truly Beard and Kelley were far ahead of their time.
In the case of carcinoma cancers, the cause may vary, but often it is bacteria that gives rise to the cancer (as in helicobacter & stomach cancer).
So unless I misunderstand your "idea" it does not seem to square with recent understandigs of the mechanics of cancer.
