Well, apparently high doses of vitamin c given intravenously does not cause diarrhea, this only occurs when large amounts are taken orally as it has to be metabolised.

We were told, no more than 9grams per day orally, is a good balance. Any more than 20grams can be more harmful when taken orally, thus the recent comments on vit acutally causing cancer, what they should have said is daily intake of massive amounts orally, of 20grams and more can increase the risk of acutally developing cancer.

But intravenous vit c is safe, sometimes up to 100g. Mum was on 75g, but had a bad shaking reaction, so its been dropped to 50, hopefully we can get a balance somwhere inbetween, say 60.

Yes she did have the canula left in her arm and the nurse did suggest she may have to try her feet if problems continue.
