Ask yourself why doctors and oncologists of all types who did not study the Science of nutrition would make pronouncements on nutrition? Do you think it is logical to trust nutritional advice from someone who knows next to nothing about recovery obtained by changing the metabolism of the body?
People who want to blindly follow along with whatever is commanded by their oncologist don't care about the quality of advice they get from them on nutrition. They don't care that doctors and oncologists have about 1 hour of training in nutrition only if they seek out the instructors who teach it. You could get the same advice from someone walking by you on the street. Most people have been trained through grade school that oncologists, chemotherapy and radiation are all part of the same safe package. This is their belief system.
If you still believe that somehow you will be magically better off by listening to your oncologist, why don't you read the personal experiences of those who had cervical cancer for instance and how they fared? Go to http://www.sharedexperience.com
and click on "Search Experiences" and then type in the type of cancer you want to read about if it's not on the drop down menu. Most people there did conventional therapy, the kind your oncologist suggests. Some combined conventional and a few alternative treatments. If you want to see how your proposed treatment for cancer the second time turned out before you try it, look there. A lot of people have left their e-mail address. Did you ask your oncologist to show you a study showing how most people with your type recurrent cancer turned out? After all, he does know the facts and figures on chemotherapy/radiation. Why would he keep you in the dark about it?
Have you asked him if you could talk to some of his patients that he treated who were like you (re:the cancer)?
A lot of your real fear is due to the fact that you don't know what is out there for you. You can't wrap your brain around the facts because the oncologist hasn't given you any facts. Telling you, you need stronger therapy, is so general it could mean different things to different people, not much to go on. Ask him since the surgery, radiation and chemotherapy didn't work last time, why does he think they will work this time? If he had found the cause of the problem and fixed it, why would he need to fix the same problem again?
I think it will help your understanding and therefore your nerves if you read up on what is cancer. Dr. Kelley's explaination in "One Answer to Cancer" is very helpful (on the internet). Or search here on CureZone. Dr. Kelley cured his own pancreas cancer. I doubt your oncologist could do the same for himself because by his therapies it can be deduced that he sees cancer as a local problem of location, location, location. Rather than the whole body problem that it is.
Reflect on this yourself, what do you believe cancer is? The treatment you chose will flow from this.
I hope you chose the more natural, alternative path and be sure to ask your family to help you to stick to the protocol you are going to follow by doing some of it themselves (like not eating Sugar laden pies and chocolate cakes). While you are reading about which protocol you will be able to follow be sure you are thinking about making a committment to follow a protocol. Doing what is convenient for you by picking parts from different protocols or alternative systems will not work out well at all.
I think the suggestions given by the previous posts are good. Read Budwig. Read some other alternative protocols also BEFORE you commit to one. Here is some simplistic advice, if you simply can not tolerate cottage cheese, and you think you can't do it--then don't do one where that is the main component. Don't undermine the meticulous and decades long work of (doctors or) researchers by only doing half of what their particular alternative system calls for because it is distasteful to do the other half. I think the answer is to find something you CAN work with, and discuss it with your family.
Remember the formal education we all got in school is the boost we all need to keep on keeping up with continuing our education once we get out of school. Use it to analyze which alternative method to use--that depends on your situation, how much money and help you will have available. Don't put more poison in your body. Shrinking the tumor is only short term gain and long term pain--as you see now when the cancer returns. You can recover your health as others have if you stick to an alternative, non toxic method.
