I recently had 2 Amalgams removed and 2 new cavities filled with the white fillings. However, since this was done I have had severe heat/cold sensitivity and pain when I chew on that side.
I told the dentist and he said that there may have been some microscopic air pockets and his more experienced partner refilled them. I am still experiencing the sensitivity and pain. sometimes my tooth will throb even when I haven't eaten anything. I am 34 and have only had 5 cavities in my life and have never had a toothache before or any problems like this. The 2 Amalgam fillings were done 4 years ago and 2 years ago. the one 2 years ago was bothering me and that is why I had the dental work done initially because it was abcessed.
I told my dentist that I am still having serious discomfort, and he recommended going back to amalgam.
I paid alot of money to remove the Amalgam and don't want to pay even more and definitely don't want to be re-exposed.
Anyone have similar experiences or some suggestions?
