1) Your current situation. Deal with it. Get the surgery before you find yourself battling full-blown cancer. The procedure is minor.

2) Your future. Need to adapt a healthy lifestyle including diet, nutritional suppliments, and exercise. Also, consider getting a colonoscopy. If one of your parents died young from cancer then you are high risk for colon cancer.
