Unlike apparently most here, I had a very positive experience having my gallbladder removed. I've had troubles with eating fatty foods for years, but the last few I'd occasionally get sharp stomach pains, back aches, and throwing up. I figured it was just the flu and never saw a doctor about it until this past summer when my mother had me go in. As it turned out, I had gall stones, and it was suggested I have my gallbladder removed as my family had a history of this problem.
So, about a month ago, I had my gallbladder removed using the laparoscopic method. I had 10 Gallstones the size of peas or bigger, no damage was done to anything else, I have healed nicely and no longer have any pain, just some itching from healing. I have not even had diahrea. To top it all off, I also have not had heartburn since the surgery. Before the surgery, I had severe heartburn almost the entire day, I was miserable. Now though, I'm doing great. I have no more pain from anything; the surgery, the stones, the heartburn. I'm very glad I went through with the surgery. Everyone was very nice, gentle, and caring with me. My ONLY discomfort was taking the drain tube out, the staples, and having to sleep on my back for a few days, but that's to be expected with surgery.
