I don't mean this as cruel, but you got exactly what you expected.
Imagine how different it might be... when you focus on what you want instead.

" ...how you find going into a relationship after being a bachelor for a few years"

As a single guy, my short answer would be FREEDOM (or lack of). Now if any female is interested enough to ask, I can expand on what I mean by that.
