If you are using yogurt for good critter repopulation you can also try kefir. You make it yourself with milk or goats milk and add kefir starter. Leave it on the counter overnight(covered with a cloth) and in 24 hours you have a yogurt tasting (kind of like a mild butter milk taste too)drink teaming with good bacteria. Just another option.
