I have had the same thoughts. When I first started having what seem to be like digestive problems oh I would say about 6-7 years ago I ask the doctor if I could have a hernia and he said oh no you don't have that but he didn't do a single test. I also ask my gastro doctor if I could be belching up bile and he said no I think you have acid reflux but he stuck a tube down my throat and said my stomach was red inside with a few small ulcerative places he said it was from taking Ibuprofen. Which I have taken since I was in 7th grade I am 41 for menstrual cramps.Nothing else would take the pain away. After looking at my stomach he just acting like I had nothing much going on but just to quit taking Ibuprofen. He said they swab it and I didn't have (I forget the name) but its some infection or something in the stomach and that I tested negative. I think it might be sometimes acid maybe sometimes bile really. I don't know if you know but what would cause the bile to back up? I swear we know more than them it seems.
