Hi Elleynia
Your Psoriasis symptoms are very similar to mine as I too had oily skin and spots until I was almost 20 years of age.
I am now 46 and Psoriasis started 3 years ago, I blame too much alcohol and a huge ammount of stress over a 6 month period 3 years ago for triggering this disease. I like my food and drink, well living in Scotland especialy during the winter which lasts almost 9 months of the year theres not a lot else to do either than eat drink and watch TV! After a heavy night on the booze, ie starting off with a bottle of wine, red or white, makes no difference to the symptoms the next days and for many painful days to follow, then several Gin & Tonics (ah its not true that all Scots drink whisky) Then Psoriasis flare up, especialy on my scalp and torso, also on my face as now as I have consumed 3 bottles of wine in the past 5 days plus many G&T's, well it is the festive season. I have tried just about every cream on the market and always return to using Elocon scalp lotion which works very quickly and eumovate on the other areas. I have considered the new treatment of injections but am afraid to have this treatment as I dont like taking pills or having anything injected into my body. On a brighter note if I stop drinking alcohol and keep away from eating hot foods like curry, drink lots of water and exercise I see a huge inmpovement in my condition.
As Christmas is just around the corner dont let a flare up spoil your holidays, like me you have lived through worse, I believe that we as sufferers see our condition worse than onlookers do so enjoy your Christmas and a Happy New Year to you. All the best for 2004 Geoff
