The hypothalamus is not a nerve. It is one of the most important "organs" of the brain, more a gland than anything else. It secretes proteins/hormones/neurotransmitters to command the autonomic nervous system.

Photosensitivity is due to low Vitamin A, low beta-carotene, low Vit B2.
