I know this post is extremely old but I have to point out - Food Safe is not a requirement to work with food in BC. I have lived here and worked many retail jobs in my day and not one employer ever asked if I have foodsafe. It wasn't until I worked for Starbucks that they offered the course because it was their company policy to have at least one person on shift with it. Company policy. lol I wish food safe was required.. you should have seen the 12 page newspaper report "The Province" did about 3 years ago reporting the condition of Vancouver restaurants. Disgusting.
