Mostly you can tell by faster transit time (as in the time it takes from meal to elimination, even to the point of having diarrhea) because bile increases perilstaltic action. You could also tell by the color of the stools. More bile means more color. Usually brown, but doesn't have to be. And you may be able to tell by ease of digestion overall, for example, no more burpies or nausea when you eat oils.
