Hi Shelley. I decided a few months ago to do one month of the Colonix program. I was a bit leary of taking the senna tea because of laxative dependence, but I did take the tea for a bit over 3 weeks and didn't seem to have any problems. But then, I started getting constipated. The bottom line is that after taking the tea for only 3 weeks, I have a big problem on my hands. I know what I need to do....I have been drinking a large cup of warm water in the morning; eating small meals, plenty of apples, broccoli, cauliflower, fresh berries, and legumes. But it seems that I literally cannot have a bowel movement, or at least I stay pretty constipated even if I DO have a bowel movement unless I do a castor oil pack at night. I have been taking olive oil and flax oil at night and in the morning as well. I have also been supplementing with a psyllium/apple pectin/prune powder fiber supplement.
My question is this. Will colema help or hurt? I know that colonics help peristalsis and oddly and sadly, my hydrotherapist said I had excellent peristalsis.....but that was before all of this happened. Also, are castor oil packs an "artificial" means of having bowel movements? How long will I have to do them?
I am pretty frustrated and angry that this has happened to me. I have worked long and hard to overcome a lot of health problems and never had problems like this before. I have struggled with skin problems and now have constipation. Exactly what my skin DOESN'T need!
Can you give me some hope? I'm pretty angry....
