My Brother at 38 has been diagnosed with Emphysema, his lung function at the time of testing was less than 50%. He was a 40 cigarette a day smoker, he has since given them away but does confess to the occasional one when "under pressure." I would like any information about how to best treat the symptoms associated with Emphysema. Can it be repaired or reversed? Are there any herbs that would encourage good lung function? or will an excercise regime do the trick? There must be something that can be done!

Please help if you can.
