Good idea

I have worked in chemical hair salons for 22 years.
I get really upset when I see salon owners hiring 1 and 2nd year students who have just been learning colour applications from hairdressing schools. Some get lured into becoming full 'colour technicians' in salons which seem to be a trend at the moment...Colour only salons....no styling.
They are then exposed to these chemicals for another 6 months until they are absolutely exhausted...from toxic inhalation. I despise salon owners for taking advantage of these young, up and coming hairdressers as they usually get very sick.
It seems to be a rotation of these students coming through and it should be stopped. I would love to advocate on this. I have observed the conditions of these salons and most of them are small long aisle salons with hardley any ventilation. We are poisoning our students... The hair schools take money from them in the first year that is astronomical...student loans range up to 12,000 for 2 years....then they give up due to illness and have a student loan with interest accumalating. These are becoming franchise salons and luring them in with good wages if you work more than 30 hours. Salon profits..owners sit back and watch there employees slowly been poisoned. Its disgusting.

I am now an organic hairdresser and love it. Hopefully more people will wake up that organic hairdressers are needed....chemical free environment salons. Then we will preserve our great students that love the work and not have to give up because of toxic exposure.

My Grandfather died of asbestos poisoning...worked in a factory.
Died of lung cancer....
My childrens grandfather died of ulcerative colon cancer...from been in the war. He volunteered to clean up after the vietnam war where there was agent orange. All his children have some form of colon problems. Must have changed his DNA to reproduce this in his children.scary..
