Maybe you already look into this site but I'm posting it here just in case - it contains a great amount of info, which is heavy reading on general pathology on mouth, implications on the overall system and analysis methods.
Thought you might appreciate some of the reading.

By the way, certain candida species can indeed be present in root canals a thrive along anaerobic bacteria.
