Accutane is very hard on the liver, that is why they test you for hepatic function while you are taking it. That said so is the stuff you have been eating in your daily diet.

Incidentally, I, too took a course of Accutane in my early 20's because I began having cystic Acne after years of mild to moderate Acne where I was prescribed Antibiotics orally and topically. This was setting the stage for all of the problems I suffer today. What I didn't know was that my diet (soft drinks, meat with hormones, chips ,junk - all of the stuff that regular American children eat) was the main culprit. When your liver cannot clean out the toxins anymore, your skin will start to help out as an elimination route.

Do you suffer any digestive issues like gas bloating or abdominal pain? Any fungal infections (atheletes feet, jock itch)? I do not know what those letters stand for and your doctor sounds like the rest. There are no magic bullets in healing. Yes every now and again someone gets lucky, like a lottery winner, but that is rare. You cannot take control of your health without changing your eating habits. If you choose to eat the foods you know are not good for you, then you will have to also take the consequences. Soft drinks are poison. Your body was never made to have all of that Sugar (high fructose corn syrup - even worse).

If you do not have candida, you could make some changes like eat whole wheat pasta with fresh tomato sauce, legumes, Antibiotic and hormone free animal products (chicken, turkey, beef, eggs) and plenty of fresh fruits and veggies and indulge on occasion. I would keep milk consumption to a minimum since humans were not designed to drink milk beyond infancy esp. another species milk. That is why many are lactose intolerant. Many suffer milk allergies which start as infants when babies are not breastfed. Yogurt is best, better if plain and you sweetened with fruit, best if homemade. DRINK WATER!

If you really have candida, you will have to make big changes to your diet or if you wait until it gets bad, you will be forced to change because you do not feel good after you eat certain foods. Good Luck.
