well, I had eaten broccoli sprouts a while back that I got from whole foods. They were crisp and had no smell other than there own. However a few weeks later I bought more and they were wet inside the container and had a grassy smell. I ate them anyway and they made me feel worse, much worse. So they must have been moldy. So now I do not trust them. But I guess if you were certain they were fresh and not wet and had not smell and you washed them well it should be okay. But I am not taking chances with them right now.
