My new doctor has put me on a food combining diet. One of my favorite non-candida foods is this middle eastern rotissere chicken served with hummus and pita (I just don't eat the pita). It is extremely healthy and one of the few things I can eat. However, I have not been able to figure out if hummus is a starch or a protein. I have heard that it is both? - which I don't understand. I would like to continue to eat this combo together, but since you cannot combine a starch with a protein, I need to know for sure if it's ok. Also, he does not want me eathing nuts, but hummus has ground up sesame seeds in it and I am wondering if anyone knows if this counts? Thanks.
