I too knew nothing about pendulums. It was a thing of the past associated with calling the spirits of the dead (if there is such a thing!). Very fashionable in the 1920s.
So I asked an old neighbour and this is how to use one.
- Make a pendulum with a piece of string with a weight at the end. The weight has to be perfectly balanced. I used an earring at the start! Of course now I have bought a ready made pendulum which sits in the kitchen with the rest of the readily available tools. But I still use temporary emergency one made of anything that is available!
Frankly all the mystique about what to use is exagerated I think (or maybe I am still ignorant of the finer points!). It HAS to be nicely balanced so that it will not swing in a particular way.
- Sit with your elbow on the table and the pendulum hanging from it. You should be quiet. Length of the string about 15-20 cm. You first have to determine which way the pendulum swings for saying YES, and NO.
You try different questions you know the answer to :
Is this salt? Is my name Deb? Please say YES. Is this cup yellow? etc
You will find out how it swings when it means YES and NO. This is different for different people. I have been told by that lady that it is best every time you start asking questions, that your first question be : Please say YES. If you are not in a fit state to use the pendulum you will not get a firm answer. For example is you are agitated you do not get clear answers. If you always start with "Please say YES", this will form a habit that will induce immediate quiet and concentration. I found that it was a bit difficult at first to get answers but after a few days practice the "Please say YES" question induced the proper state.
- The pendulum may swing clockwise, anticlockwise, diagonally, straight. Depends on the person and how you hold it.
- You do not have to ask the question aloud. Very useful if you are in a restaurant!! Just think of your question. BUT do NOT think of several questions at the same time!
- It is a bit tiring at first. Do not overdo it. To overcome that problem I had started asking general questions like "Is there Aspartame in that fridge?" It works, but no as well as individual testing if the amount is tiny.
There are books about the subject and it seems there are lots of uses for a pendulum. To tell you the truth I haven't tried because MY MAIN AND ONLY OBSESSION is to get rid of Mono-Sodium-Glutamat (Natrium Glutamat) and Aspartame! Obviously this works on other things and I have used it to find out about vitamin deficiencies in myself. But this is another subject.
I test everything when it comes into the house with 4 questions.
- "Is there Mono-Sodium-Glutamat (Natrium Glutamat) in this?" This answers also hydrolised items and all forms of MSG. BUT it also answers positive if the Mono-Sodium-Glutamat (Natrium Glutamat) is natural! It says YES for tomatoes! If it says YES I then ask : "Is there artificial MSG in this?"
- "Is there Aspartame in this?"
- "Are there pesticides in this?" I buy only organic so nice to know when I am being ripped off.
- "Are there preservatives in this?" If you buy expensive organic lettuce you don't expect that it be sprayed with preservatives do you. Often is unfortunately, by someone on the way from producer to buyer.
Refinement : When I get a YES answer, I can also find out if there is a lot of the stuff inside. Questions : "Is there more than 40% MSG in this", "more than 50% MSG in this?" etc. I know it sounds strange and it is a strange formulation for the question but it can help you choose between two products if you are ready to use a shampoo with 3% MSG rather than with 40%!
You can also ask if you feel unwell : "Did I take MSG today (yesterday-this morning-at lunch etc?" - Aspartame - preservatives - pesticides - etc
"Was it something I ate? I drank? I touched? I smelled?
Prepare for a real SHOCK! I had thought I led an MSG free life and despaired because I wasn't completely feeling well. Now I know the difference. I also know the face of betrayal. I know the companies that knowingly poisoned me. I know the shops that sell fake organic produce! I know the restaurant owner who advertizes "NO MSG HERE!!" and knowingly uses broth cubes. The look was on his face but I needed to eat so much that I erased it from my mind. Once you know, apart from the effect from avoiding MSG, something happens. You get a kind of burst of energy, as though part of that life which has been stolen from you came back!
Good luck and all the best of health!
