I would focus treatment of the thyroid first thing. Have T_3 and T4 tested. Other symtoms will fall-off quickly after that--put yourself on dietary restrictions after a 2 day fast on soups high in sodium content. Shroom

P.S. How bad is the insomnia, and are you experiencing hallucinations such as hearing voices etc? This can happen with thyroid problems.
