The adrenals can be stressed from any illness. Whatever is rough on the body will result in some amount of adrenal stress, small or large. The trick is for the adrenals to "bounce back" and keep functioning optimally, just like any other organ. Consider the liver when you've had a rich dessert or lots of french fries. Some people can handle this, others cannot and so take care to not overdo it on liver no-nos.
