Depression CAN be a fatal illness. So by all means, if you really need them, use them. However, there is something you should know about anti-depressant know. Health insurance companies look for certain "markers" when they write INDIVDUAL health insurance policies. A prescription for anti-depressants is one of those markers. One prescription for anti-depressants might make it extremely difficult or impossible to obtain individual health insurance coverage. Sure, you might have group coverage today, but things often change. Nice world we live in.
