Qwer,
Probiotics are very good for improving the intestinal tract to help gain control of dysbiosis. However, digestive enzymes can do sooo much more. And having leaky gut while using digestive enzymes can prove to be quite a boon in the case of systemic candida. You do realize that systemic candida got to be systemic by making its way into the bloodstream and spreading to other areas of the body outside of the digestive tract, often via the 'Leaky Gut Highway'. In fact, most of the symptoms associated with leaky gut are due to undigested food particles, candida, and other microbes being able to cross the intestinal lining undigested.
Anyway, from what I have read the proteolytic enzymes that digest proteins are helpful in many areas of health and healing, especially candida. Because the enzymes can digest protein, they help to breakdown the cell wall of the candida, essentially killing it. And since the enzymes can enter the blood stream via the 'Leaky Gut Highway' just like the candida, they can track down the candida(well, bump into the candida) throughout the body helping to break down the cell wall and reaching them where some anti-fungals can't go. I found a wonderful article on enzymes that I read ever so often just to remind myself, but I didn't save it on my computer. I will find the link to that article and post it so that you can read it too. It is quite enlightening and based on a good bit of research.
I'll admit that I tended to megadose both my probiotics and my enzymes, but I believe it worked.
