Every symptom that you listed can be a symptom of Celiac Disease. Stained teeth/receding gums are VERY indicative of Celiac Disease. I was on the Candida diet for 4 months. I also passed what I thought was Candida (I was doing daily enemas). I got tested at GSDL for candida/parasites. I had the whole Comprehensive Digestive Stool Analysis done. It came back negative. I probably would have doubted these results had I not ordered other tests at the same time. I had lots of food sensitivity /intolerance tests run too...they were normal as well. The other test that I ordered was from a lab which tests for Celiac. Those tests came back positive. The lab doesn't "officially" diagnose celiac because by rule a biopsy usually makes it official. I havent had my biopsy yet but every test came back positive indicating this disease. I was told my body had severe autoimmune response to gluten and had damaged my intestinal lining. I had almost severe malabsorption and was told I need to be on gluten-free diet for life.
All I know is I had every symptom of candida and a very fuzzy white tongue. I was on disability for 2 years and at one point I was bed-ridden. I was severely depressed and had even considered suicide. I had an ND helping me for awhile...she said I had systemic candida....one of the worst she had ever seen.
I did improve on the candida diet because I had stopped eating grains but I was still consuming gluten in other products such as supplements and spices. Its only been 4 weeks since I got my positive test results and I'm happy to say I'm going back to work on Monday. 90% of my symtoms are gone and I've gained 10 lbs. back already. It will take time to heal but its not hopeless anymore. My tongue isn't white anymore...I think its because I am finally absorbing nutrients.
There are alot of conditions that can cause the symptoms you listed but some of them really stand out as celiac symptoms. The problem is you cant get tested for celiac if you've been on the candida diet. You need to be eating gluten daily for 3 months prior to testing or the tests are unreliable. Large amounts of gluten need to be in the system for antibodies to show up in the blood. A gluten-free diet...even for a couple days will reduce antibodies and give a false negative.
There is only one lab in the U.S. that tests for these antibodies in the stool..the antibodies are present in the GI tract much longer than in the blood. Reason being is that most of the damage is taking place in the intestines. I had to get tested out of pocket since I'd been on the candida diet 4 months. My standard blood tests were negative. My stool tests were highly positive.
The results of my gluten-free diet are highly positive as well. The GI doc said he doesn't even need to do the biopsy...sometimes its just obvious. I want the biopsy anyway just to make sure there is nothing else going on.
