Dear Brittany & Julie,

Here are some books about food and
alternative health therapies that
have resonated with me:

1) HEALING WITH WHOLE FOODS, By
Paul Pitchford. A wonderful book
that functions as an encyclopedia.
It has 700 pages and a first-rate
index. I wouldn't be without it.

2) COMMON SENSE HEALTH AND HEALING
by Dr. Richard Schulze . This is the
book I give to those who know
little or nothing about alternative
health protocols. It's easy to read,
and makes a lot of sense. Schulze,
who has a forum here on CZ, is an
in-your-face writer. You either love
him or hate him. I love him. And I
love his cleanses.

3) THE KEY TO HEALTH AND REJUVENATION by Andreas Moritz . This
is perhaps the single best book about staying healthy. It has a
spiritual element that most health
books lack. If you're turned off by
mysticism, then you may not like it.
I loved it, and took a zillion notes
from it. I understand the new edition is called TIMELESS SECRETS OF HEALTH AND REJUVENATION, and has
200 new pages.

4) LESSONS FROM THE MIRACLE DOCTORS
by Dr. Jon Barron. Jon is one of the superstars of alternative medicine,
and this small book (200 pages) is
a must-read.

5) LIVING FOODS, OPTINAL HEALTH by
Brian Clement. Brian is Director of
the famous Hippocrates Healing Spa
in West Palm Beach, Florida. Anyone
on a raw foods regimen should own a
copy of this book.

6) THE RAW GOURMET by Nomi Shannon.
Not a cookbook, but a primer in how
to prepare deliious raw food entrees. It's filled with fabulous
photographs. Nomi's book proves that
"raw" does not have to be unappealing.

7) JUICE FASTING AND DETOXIFICATION
by Steve Meyerowitz. Steve is known
as The Sproutman, and this is one of
his best books. I highly recommend it.
