Dear Julie,
I am glad to hear of your continued success with xylitol. I read your posting in the newsletter this Monday and stopped by a health food store on the way to work. I think my problem is more h.pylori, a stomach bacteria, but could also be candida. I know it's a fungal overgrowth, big time, with a lot of coating on my tongue as well. And I also have a bad case of ringworm which has been very difficult to eradicate.
So I got xylitol and started taking it, at your dose of a 1/4 cup. Man, did I have die off, and I was stunned because I've taken a lot of Colloidal Silver (I actually have a maker--definitely the way to go as far as cost go--you pay for it in a few batches). But with the CS I never had much of a die off. I did notice less coating on the tongue (is this thrush; not sure because I've also heard of sores too). but the die off with xylitol was so intense that I was also wondering if it might be leading of an overgrowth. I thought it was too good to be true. I was even to the point of gagging and nauseau, but I drank tons of water and kept with it. For two days I felt rough. Now I don't sense much with the xylitol and feel good after some. I got some oregano oil in the mail which I had ordered before reading your post. I was surprised how little effect it seemed to have. I've been making gel caps of my own with 5 drops of it and 12 drops of grapefruit seed extract, as I am making a concerted effort to knock out a drawn out problem, but the xylitol seems the key. And yes, after avoiding Sugar for so long, it's a treat to be sitting at work stirring xylitol into tea. I also got a kick of off the thought of making desserts down the road that would actually be healthy.
What's been your experience with diahhrea? by the way I came across a great article:

Also, I also read the xylitol is one of the four ingredients in some scientists' vaccine for SARS, so that just so who antibacterial it can be.
I've even added xylitol to water and putting that on ringworm has been helpful.
I appreciate your courage to go against the grain and try this. My first day I kept thinking, this is just too good to be true.
all the best to you and thank you, Tim
