Hummus can be raw, sure. Are the chickpeas sprouted (raw), or do they used canned (cooked)? That's the difference.
Also, I make a super yummy hummus using zucchini instead of chickpeas - it's SO good! I love to dip Celery in it. Yum.
One zucchini chopped
juice from half a lemon
one or two cloves garlic
some salt
some pepper or cayenne
2 tablespoons of raw tahini (any health food store sells Rejuvenate Raw Tahini)
Just puree it. If it's very thin, you can strain it with cheesecloth. You'll love this!
