Hi! I've only done a few enemas, one resulting in a lot of mucusy stuff (an acidopholus enema), kind of jellyfish-like (long with a cotton-ballish top). Perhaps we've been able to loosen the candida, yay!, or perhaps this stuff is just the normal, protective mucus lining of the intestines sloughing off any excess in there (or a bit of both)? I wouldn't worry that it's part of an intestine or anything--from what I've read, it seems mucus lines the intestine, is where the candida live, and it, as intestinal lining, can become excessive sometimes itself, whether it's infested with candida or not. So it seems likely it's good to clear it out now and then--also maybe by reducing/eliminating mucus-producing foods for a while (like meats, eggs, nuts--that leaves us candida-diet folks with just veges! so it's not so easy to do, maybe for a day or so...). It certainly seems to make sense that an invasive proceedure like an enema would loosen whatever is in there. There's a site I ran into that has some good info on the function of mucus in the gut (though it does end up promoting a book, the info is still useful):

May you be well!
