To quote from the article "Was Einstein Right?" by staff writer & editor George
Musser, Scientific American magazine, Sept 2004:

"As Einstein was among the first to realize, quantum mechanics, too, is
incomplete. It offers no reason for why individual physical events happen,
provides no way to get at objects' intrinsic properties and has no compelling
conceptual foundations."

Well you know, it's like that with the whole universe, really. The whole question is WHY? In simplistic terms, why do flowers want to bloom and look so beautiful? Why do mothers instinctively care for their young? How does sperm instinctively know to swim towards the egg...and then how does it know what to do when it gets there? How does each animal instinctively know its purpose? How/why does the earth spin on its axis with such precision for eons? Goodness, the world is full of this stuff. There's a missing piece of the puzzle that people often dismiss...and that piece is "WHY."

To me Science is just the simple observation of what's happening...and there is virtually no explanation as to why. To me, "why" is much more important than "how" or "what." -- "Why" is THE ultimate question.
