I agree. In fact Christianity started by word of mouth only. Churches sprang up everywhere, starting in the very city where Jesus died on the cross -- where people saw the proof first hand! They didn't have the internet or newspapers to broadcast the news all over the world like we have now. The Gospel was excitedly circulated by word of mouth only. This was THE way of communication back then. The Bible (I'm talking about the New Testament) may, in fact have a few slight differences in some of the details, but you have to remember that the Bible is essentially the testimony of several different people (humans), written 30-50 years after the actual event.
