It was 1600yrs. from creation till the flood. We are past the 6000yr. mark now. That would be about 4500yrs. for things like this to happen.

And, yes I do believe that these things evolve. Jacob changed the color of the herds in the book of Gen.

God could have used evolution to create everything. that wouldn't mean it took a million years.
