I hear people say all the time that there is no proof of evolution. This assertion is patently false. There are MANY transitional fossils. The only dispute among scientists has been the question of how to classify them. Is it homosapiens with a slanted forhead and simian lower body features? Or is it an ape with some humanoid features? There are many cases I have encountered in my reading. Also, evolution is observed every day by scientists in lesser species that have much shorter lifespans and quicker mutation rates. And evolution has been backed up by many diverse field of Science (biology, chemistry, genetics, etc.), by thousands of scientists over the course of many decades, independently.Mutation, by the way, is not random. Species evolved to suit their environments. As environments change (the catalyst) species either evolve or die. In the course of my lifetime (I am 35) this has happened thousands of time that we are aware. For humans it happens very slowly and inperceptibly in a single lifetime. Now, you believe what you want as far as god and creationism. We all have that right. But don't try to distort science, like so many christians do, or take small psuedo-scientific facts out of context to try to support your position. You choose to believe something despite the facts. I choose to let the facts make my determination. Yes, it is true, we do not know everything yet. But, lack of knowledge is not proof of god or any of your idealogy. Lack of knowledge simply means we don't know. Before we knew what caused earthquakes, or volcanoes, or rain, or lightning, or any phenomenon we take for granted today, people invented gods to explain those occurances. Even if evolution turned out not to be true (very unlikely) it does not prove creationism. It just proves that we don't have all the answers yet.
