Hey y'all,
Please remember coastal residents this weekend who will be hit hard by the latest hurricane. Our local weathermen are saying this hurricane reminds them of Hurricane Camille, which was so deadly in the late 60's.
So many people have never fully covered from Ivan last year. Hundreds of homes have tarps for roofs because there haven't been enough roofing contractors to replace roofs from last year. Many condos, homes and businesses are currently under construction from last year, only to take another hit. Ivan was a category 3 and Dennis is a 4 as of this morning.
One friend from Gulfshores had three of his restaurants heavily damaged by Ivan last year and his home totally destroyed. He was out over a million dollars out of pocket. His roof for his new home was completed last week. Then Tropical Storm Cindy hit earlier in the week and blew his new roof off his house. Now, he says the knot in his stomach thinking about Hurricane Dennis grows larger as the storm approaches.
As Owen stated in his post, these hurricanes don't usually begin until much later in the year. I have always thought of hurricanes beginning when Ole Miss plays their first football game----but not this early.
Predictions are for a very active hurricane season.
Please keep these people in your thoughts and in your prayers.
