Almost.

I'm saying that I've spent a lot of time revving my engine and getting nowhere, when life was busily trying to show me how to get into first gear, and I didn't even realize it.

Me. I. First person.

I try to avoid extending my thoughts on spirituality to others. Not to say I don't think in those terms ever, but I've found that when I'm doing that, I'm usually still trying to avoid confronting something about myself by putting it on "them".

All my discussion about this should be considered specific to me, only.

Otherwise, yeah, you're pretty spot on.
