It is that man (we human beings who are imperfect) have a relationship with our God. That relationship is not seen as religion. Religion (for many) is seen as an organised social structure. The relationship and the religion are two seperate things. One is very personal, personal experiences, beliefs, learned bits of knowledge etc. The other is a building with rules, a hierarchy and a socially organised system of how to do things.
