Hello God Lovers,
I think that is the most wonderful and meaningful quality on earth (that a person loves the Creator) that a person can have. Very often, you will hear people say things like,..."Remember the Alamo","Remember Pearl Harbor","Remember The Bismarck", but how many times have you ever heard someone say "Remember the Creator"? It brings to mind the most important commandment..."Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all your heart, mind, soul and strength". It seems that it is very unpopular to REALLY understand that commandment. There are two objectives (or goals) in that commandment..."THOU SHALT" (you must OBEY}...and "LOVE". If a criminal pointed a gun at your head and said "Love me", could you do it?...of course not, you could pretend to love the criminal by showering them with gifts and compliments, but you could'nt genuinely love them. It is obvious which of those two objectives is your priority. CONGRATULATIONS, you have passed the #1 test of someone who is truly Godly. Love cannot be legislated (come from a law). It can only come from the heart if that is what is in the heart. I have been a Christian for 18 years...NOT a religous one, God is NOT a religion, neither do I worship or love the the bible, I worship and love GOD. That does'nt mean I disregard the bible as God's WRITTEN word (the bible is NOT God's word, it is the "word of TRUTH" (2 Timothy 2:15), "the sword of the SPIRIT is the word of God" (Ephesians 6:17). Unfortunately, very often, Christianity is taught in a very dogmatic and partisan way, and I must admit that many of my brethren were taught love for God as legislation (as opposed to CONSCIENTOUS love). I don't know if it's a natural limit of human understanding caused by societys' general lack of love for each other (I learned to love God because He is where all of us came from, not just myself, but all of us). I am and always have been an IDEALIST (I LOVE everything that is good and right and true, I don't just like or prefer it, I LOVE it). God is light and we are to walk as children of light (Ephesians 5:9 "for the fruit of light is found in all that is good and right and true"). Because of carelessness and bad teaching, there were times when I was 'momentarily misled' by the spirit of MAN, but God helped me to develop "eyes to see and ears to hear" so that spirit of GOD could discern "even the depths of God" (1 Corinthians 2:10) so that I could return to Him in truth and spirit because I was receptive to Him. Your "disgust" for religion proves your love for God and echoes the reason why the Pharisees were called a "Brood of Vipers". I did'nt know God's name or His truth until I was 32 years old, and that's exactly the reason why, because God was presented to me as a religion, but then I learned to distinguish between the institutions of man and the CREATOR. For years, I had been wondering why He had'nt sent someone in His name yet in order to save us from an ill-fated existence and to, in effect, purify us. The Lord always spoke to my conscience, long before I knew His name or believed that the bible was true (I don't subscribe to the teaching that the Lord speaks to us by some kind of spiritual brainwaves, am I wrong?). Hebrews 5:12 says that young Christians will be taught the ESSENTIALS (obedience, fear of judgement, wrath, etc.), but more mature (older) Christians will have graduated to learning the PRINCIPLES of God (love, faith, conscience), yes, CONSCIENCE. Adam and Eve did not eat of the tree of 'good and evil',...they ate of the tree of "conscience" and became AWARE of the existence of good and evil (and were ashamed of their nakedness). It's not that we are BEING BLAMED for what they did, it is that the parents of the human race MESSED UP and that all of their offspring inherited that awareness AND ACCOUNTABILITY for OUR OWN deeds. I have been on CureZone Forums (on and off, mostly off), for a few years, but could not help but be attracted to to this forum because of your intense love for the Creator and your disgust (no militancy, please) for that "Brood of vipers" called "RELIGION". I know I seem to ramble on, but the spirit of MAN very often teaches that there is SHAME in forsaking what WE know as the "Brood of vipers", but, TAKE HEART, God will guide you on your journey to know Him in truth and spirit.
