Hi Tom! I learned in my humanities class that the pagans (Roman and Greek) that converted, after the emporer made it a demand, actually used the saints in place of their gods!! One set of statues were switched for another!! In the European cultures the Virgin Mary become something akin to a fertility goddess. Definately not the intentions of those diciples who went amongst them preaching! But it was a first step.

Personally I have found a deep well of spirituality in me that is a wonderful thing. I have also found that it is by going to Jesus Himself that that well is replenished. I have taken steps that my family finds disturbing and confusing, but I'm convinced they are the right steps to take. Several months ago I was faced with going to my new church vs our catholic one. I turned to Jesus for support and guidence and said, "I will follow where I'm lead!" In taking that step I have found help, and hope, for my Depression and anxiety. I have discovered that my "unique" spiritual side is just fine. For me it's normal! I'm not sure where my path will take me, but I'm excited to see what comes next!!
