I have been suffering from anxiety for over 5 years now. Something would upset me or worry me, I would have a body symptom, and that's all it took! I would begin to obcess over my symptoms, worrying constantly what could be wrong with me, spending many hours reading medical books, searching the net, and self diagnosing. To make a long story a little shorter, eight trips to the emergency room, a week in the hospital (from dehydration, starvation, near death) and too many years spent as a slave to this disorder, I reached out for help. In the passed 4 months I have relieved 70% of my anxiety through Lucinda Bassett's self help program, available through the Midwest Center. It has helped me tremendously! I was house-bound, unable to drive, anti-social, and a constant worrier. The program has taught me so much that I now drive again, run errands by myself, go out of my way to socialize with friends, and strangers, and I no longer sit around and obcess over my body symptoms. All except for one thing. I experience heart flutters, or "flip-flops" as I like to call them. It feels as if my heart turns over in my chest. I immediately get a headache. This happens to me mostly while I'm at rest, and it even wakes me up out of sleep. I have noticed that juice, orange juice especially, and anything sweet like cookies, ice cream, ect. will cause them to happen. It happened once after I sniffed lavender oil in the Nature Food Store. I was wondering if anyone else has this symptom, or if anyone has any ideas as to what it is.
