First, soak your feet and hands for 15 minutes once a day in a basin of 2 quarts warm water, 1 cup apple cider vinegar, and 10 drops lavender essential oil (Lavandula angustifolia). Apple cider vinegar restores a healthy acidity to your skin, making it more resistant to fungal growth, and lavender acts as an antimicrobial.
Next, thoroughly dry your feet and hands, using a towel and a hair dryer set on warm. With an artist's brush, paint a mixture made of tea tree essential oil (Melaleuca alternifolia) and lavender essential oil (in equal parts) onto your nails twice a day. Tea, tree oil acts as a potent antifungal, and the lavender essential oil will do double duty, fighting the infection and preventing skin irritation. It will also help to temper tea tree's strong medicinal scent.
Because fungi tend to take hold when your immunity is low, give your immune system a boost by eating at least one clove of raw garlic, a great anti-fungal, each day.
