Pearls Before Swine?

6"Do not give dogs what is sacred; do not throw your pearls to pigs. If you do, they may trample them under their feet, and then turn and tear you to pieces. Matthew 7:6

How do you know when to "fold your hand" and drop out of an unproductive discussion?


Jesus warns us, "Do not give what is holy to dogs, and do not throw your pearls before swine." (Matt. 7:6) How do we know when we've crossed the line when we share our faith? When do we have an obligation to speak, and when should we keep our pearls to ourselves?
The answer is easy when we consider the rest of the verse: "Do not throw your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces." We should be generous with the truth unless we encounter someone who shows utter contempt for the precious gift he is being offered. He will simply trample it in the mud and then viciously turn on you. Don't waste your time with people like this. There's plenty of ripe fruit waiting to be harvested. Regards,

When I was a kid, I clearly remember being taught not to interact with people who reject the idea that jusus christ is the son of god and savior to mankind. Christians, especially fundys, are taught they must spread to word of god, and also not to associate with "non-believers".

I've said this before and I will say it again. I absolutly can not buy into a religion that teaches the only way to get to heaven is to declare jusus christ as your own personal savior, and everyone else burns in hell. I CAN NOT beleive Ghandi is burning in hell and Jim Baker is going to heaven. I just refuse to go along with such total foolishness.

My idea of heaven can not be a place filled with penitent pedophiles, rapists, wife beaters, etc. The same skum of the earth I was exposed to as a kid in church are all going to heaven??!!! I couldn't buy into that crap then. I would rather burn in hell with Ghandi.
