Not so. It's in the bible (which was truly adulterated by the catholics, mind you) that it's god's law for people to tithe 10% of their earnings to the church.

IF the church chooses to use it for meals and upkeep that's their business. I think what everyone's talking about here is tithing --- and that is wrong.

That was the catholic "addition" to the bible to help fund their holy wars and buy bigger jewels to wear on their big pointed pope hats.
